Mario Karting in Japan: A Must-Do Adventure

Updated: Jun 28, 2024

We flew all the way to Japan just to experience real-life Mario Karting! While the cuisine, culture, and other experiences were also a big draw, karting around Tokyo was a significant influence on our decision to visit.

A Dream Come True

16-year-old Hannah and Charlie wouldn’t believe we are in Japan, karting around Tokyo city. Back in college, we were a bit obsessed with Mario Kart, often playing between classes. Now, we're living that dream in the streets of Tokyo!

Booking and Experience

Advance Booking: You need to book your Mario Kart experience in advance. We highly recommend doing this at night when Tokyo is beautifully illuminated.

Iconic Routes: The tour takes you through some of the most iconic areas of Tokyo, including Asakusa, Skytree, and Akihabara. It’s a fantastic way to see the city from a unique perspective.

Dress Up: To add an extra level of fun, you can dress up as your favourite Mario Kart character. This not only enhances the experience but also makes for some great photos.

Guided Photos: Your guide will take photos of you during the tour, so you can capture and share this unforgettable experience.

Arrival: Arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure everything is set up and ready to go.

The Tour

The tour is a thrilling ride through the heart of Tokyo, allowing you to feel the breeze of the city from a custom-built go-kart. You’ll drive through the center of Tokyo, exploring the Asakusa and Skytree areas, and ending in Akihabara. This tour offers a unique way to experience Japan.
